Responsibilities

Patch Deployment: Deploy patches and updates to servers, workstations, and network devices, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Schedule and coordinate patch deployments during maintenance windows.

Vulnerability Assessment: Identify vulnerabilities in software, operating systems, and applications by monitoring security bulletins and using vulnerability scanning tools.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate the impact and criticality of identified vulnerabilities, prioritizing patch deployment based on risk and potential impact on the organization.

Testing: Test patches and updates in a controlled environment to ensure they do not conflict with existing systems and applications.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patching activities, including schedules, procedures, and patch history. Ensure compliance with documentation and audit requirements.

Security Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with industry standards, security policies, and regulations regarding patch management.

Security Awareness: Raise awareness within the organization about the importance of keeping software and systems up to date to mitigate security risks.

Incident Response: Contribute to the incident response plan by assisting in the recovery process and applying patches in response to security incidents.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IS, Computer Science, MIS Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. But relevant certifications and experience can be valuable.
