Kill chain engineer/analyst

This kill chain engineer/analyst will be part of a dynamic team supporting with the department of defense’s (dod) research, development and prototyping efforts and offices in the national capital regionBring your expertise and collaborative skills to make a positive impact on the security of our nation.
Customer and mission
Serco has engineering and program management contracts supporting the office of the secretary of defense (osd) and defense agenciesThis serco position involves developing new and innovative ways to shape and counter emerging threats across the space, sof, and cyber domains, bringing unexpected and game-changing capabilities to the joint force.
The dod customer’s mission is to rapidly demonstrate and transition innovative capabilities to shape the competition space, counter emerging threats, and support long-term competitions by creating strategic operational effects through deterrence, power projection, cost imposition, surprise, and overmatch.
To accomplish its mission, serco will develop and demonstrate prototypes to buy down risk and prove feasibility of game-changing concepts that can be fielded in the near term (0-5 years) using existing and emerging government and commercial systems.
This position involves enabling the dod to advance spacepower through the pursuit of defense objectives related to maintaining space superiority, providing space support to national, joint, and combined operations, and ensuring space stabilityActivities on this effort involve informing recommendations to the senior osd decision-maker regarding new applications of, and modifications to, existing and near-term capabilitiesThey also involve working through the military departments and dod components to execute and acquire approved innovative concepts.
Team and management information
You will be part of a team responsible for highly consequential engagements with stakeholders impacting national security and the defense capabilities of the united statesYou will work closely with customers and other serco teams to deliver quality solutions recognized by dod and industry as outstanding contributions in engineering program and risk management across the defense enterprise***this position is contingent upon contract award expected in august 2022.***
In this position you will:
Provide expert assessments of threat kill chain operations and identify exploitable vulnerabilities, analyze mission threads and blue force system kill chains to identify capability gaps and solutions, developing system models, constructs and executes simulation and analysis plans, trade studies and sensitivity analysis, and translates them into concise and comprehensive artifacts for documenting and communicating to multiple audiences
Program scenarios, system models, behaviors, and artificial intelligence for investigating military operations in simulation environments
Perform experiments of new concepts and system applications in simulated military wargames
Perform data reduction and present analytical results
Support all aspects of a technical program management expertise in an engineering or scientific related field to support the engineering development of prototypes across key technical areas
Conduct systems engineering tasks including technology analysis and assessment, system definition, systems analysis, systems architecture development and architecture products, and logistical support of dod systems
Provide the technical support in engineering prototype development projects that will impose engineering technical rigor and best practices against projects
Support development of systematic roadmaps with technical reviews, milestones, concepts, requirements and operational objectives for end-to-end prototyping development
Qualifications:
This position requires that you have:
Dod top secret clearance with sci eligibility
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science/engineering/electrical, computer or analytics related field of study.
Bachelor`s degree with 10-12 years of experience, a master’s degree with 8-10 year of experience or a phd with 5-7 years of experience
Experience performing kill chain analysis related to sof, space and/or cyber for dod customer
Passion for programming, wargaming, and military modeling & simulations
Understanding of military operations (desired)
8+ years of software development experience (preferably scripting languages, python, r programming language, c++, lua, etc.).
Capability to self-direct efforts.
Capability to research areas for additional insight.
Proficiency developing presentation products in ms office including powerpoint, excel, and word.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills.
Desirable qualifications include experience in:
Experience interfacing with joint staff, cocoms, and warfighters to coordinate engineering and analysis needs and analytic results is desired
Three years of experience supporting military operations at the cocom or
Special operations level.
Military or osd experience
Knowledge of dod demonstration and experimentation support to include planning, coordinating, and execution of a large-scale multi-year demonstration and experimentation campaign to evaluate the operational utility of prototypes in a multidomain environment
Development of a strategy and framework for identifying prototype mission capabilities into demonstration or experimentation venues to evaluate their operational utility
