Job introduction
This role leads and develops commercial planning – including sales plans and forecasting to create and deliver the annual volume and value targets in line with the commercial strategy, ensuring efficient delivery in line with trade and customer discount budgetsThis role also develops and owns the overall commercial operating rhythm including planning and review cycles both for internal teams and with customers, and is responsible for translating insights from sales data and industry trends into actionable plans to drive optimisation.
Main responsibility
Lead and manage the development, implementation, and execution of sales plans (including new brand/sku launches), including the allocation of targets by brand, geography, and channel to ensure delivery of sales targets.
Lead and manage demand and volume planning to ensure right stock allocation and maximisation of nsv through nrm and volume share with the right market mix in line with brand market prioritisation & commercial targets.
Lead and drive the commercial operating rhythm and s&op cycle including meetings with the leadership team, organising commercial monthly/weekly slt and regional cycles, commercial scorecard reviews, with action plans and follow up tracking of actions from fprs to ensure an embedded continuous improvement process across commercial performance and forecast accuracy.
Manage all commercial sales data including shipment, depletion, market share and market insight, reviewing data against insight from the sales team and ensure accurate analysis of sales trends, competitor, and customer activity.
Translate commercial data and analysis into identifiable opportunities and develop actionable insight and key action planning in alignment with rtc objectives to optimise sales.
Collaborate closely with the finance team to review m&e of cd investments to ensure maximisation of roi, driving increased output of investments and deliver continuous efficiency and optimisation for overall trade spends.
Centrally anchoring joined up annual business plans, quarterly/monthly business reviews with customers along with the head of sales and internal function stakeholders as per operating rhythm to draw and analyse overall insights, identifying risks & opportunities, track follow up actions per rtc guidelines, with continuous inputs to the head of sales to ensure the optimum market mix to deliver our market share aspirations by category.
Collaborate closely with key sales and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across commercial and supply chain forecasting including consensus volume forecast and consolidation.
Work in close partnership with customers and distributors to review performance and ensure working capital/investment is optimised to deliver the geographical prioritisation and increase as well as potential for expansion through new distributors in line with the 5-year plan while mitigating any credit risks/limitations to ensure sustainable business growth.
Collaborate with key functional stakeholders and regional commercial teams to ensure accountability and drive central alignment of legal, commercial, and finance requirements in the business through the value chain to ensure efficient delivery of excise registration and policy change executions in market.
Our ideal candidate
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in a business/marketing discipline required
8+ years of relevant experience
Commercial acumen and p&l management with an understanding of the need for rigor regarding spending choices, the importance of roi and an ability to manage allocated budget (spend, allocation) and optimise based on priorities.
Strong project management skills; knowledge of project management concepts, practices, and procedures
Strong data management skills with an ability to translate data into accurate forecasting and actionable insights with a follow-through on execution.
Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally; able to convince, influence, and motivate stakeholders across all levels within the business to achieve objectives
Highly organised and detail oriented with a positive attitude in leading and working in a matrix structure
Strong organisation and problem-solving skills with a problem-solving mindset; able to build and leverage on creative, innovative solutions, challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks and removing obstacles to achieve efficient and effective solutions
Ability to creatively organize and present data in excel and powerpoint
Desirable:
Mba qualification is advantageous
Experience in working in the drinks/regulated industry.
Experience working in matrix structures
