VISA Looking for Director – Python Full-Stack Development at   Bangalore Full Time

Operations and Infrastructure Network Software Engineering team is responsible for building a world class infrastructure as code network automation platform that will be used to manage all aspects of Visa’s global WAN, backbone and datacenter networks. This system will help deliver availability, performance and agility that is required by a Visa’s web-scale, always-on network.

In this role, we expect you to work across functions and teams to gather and formulate requirements, facilitate discussions, drive consensus, remove blockers and help deliver positive outcomes. You will be responsible for building a local Software Engineering team that will be primarily working with Network Engineering, Network Operations and Security Engineering teams in order to facilitate the design and development of the application. While this is a people leader role, you will be expected to do hands-on development.

Essential Functions:

• Provide leadership and oversight to a team of software engineers building robust and scalable services.
• Provide candid feedback and coaching to maximize team competency.
• Directly contribute to the development of core network infrastructure automation platform.
• Apply creative thinking to determine the best solutions that support automation efficiency.
• Develop clear, aligned goals and direction toward project completion.
• Achieve Operational and Engineering excellence: availability, stability, efficiency, with an availability-first mindset directed towards all product development efforts.
• Partner with Cloud Platform teams to drive infrastructure agility and automation reliability.
• Participate in technical system design discussions with global teams to ensure business and technical requirements are understood, documented and implemented.
• Keep executive management informed of progress and any risks or obstacles.
• This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

• 14+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 14+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dynamic leader who has directly managed a team of highly skilled developers in a fast paced environment.
• Strong software product development background with a passion for building applications with high levels of reliability, availability and security.
• Very good understanding of Enterprise Application Lifecycle Management needs.
• Extensive technical experience with full stack Angular/React, REST APIs, Python, SQL, ORM, RDBMS.
• Solid understanding of technologies
• Experience with both NoSQL and SQL datastores including MySQL and Redis.
• Experience with containers.
• Extended experience in Agile Release Management practices, governance, and planning.
• Ability to quickly identify and manage/mitigate production issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of routing and switching technologies.
