Summary
The gtc specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the company’s trade compliance programA successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders and other members of the company’s global gtc teamHe or she will also support the creation and implementation of trade compliance policy and initiatives globallySimplot would provide relocation for the right candidate!
Key responsibilities
Support periodic internal assessments on the state of simplot’s trade compliance programIdentify risk areas and recommend improvements.
Interface with and direct third-party service providers such as freight forwarders and customs brokersReport findings and recommendations.
Assist with management of global trade data in a global trade management (gtm) solution
Identify and resolve day-to-day trade compliance matters for simplot’s business units.
Manage gtc record retention.
Ability to travel internationally (10%)
Ability to assist with cross-functional projects.
Comprehension of relevant global trade compliance subject matter including hts classifications, export control classifications, free trade agreement qualification, and auditing.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Typical education
Bachelor’s degree (ba/bs or equivalent)
Master’s degree (ma/ms or equivalent) or other professional degree preferred
Relevant experience
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred experience working for any of the following:
A trade compliance practice at a law firm or a “big 4” accounting firm.
A customs authority (government employee).
A global trade compliance team at a global food company.
Experience coordinating with the fda, usda, epa and other partner government agencies.
Experience with regulatory import requirements (e.gFood safety registration numbers).
Experience with gtm software.
Required certifications
Licensed customs broker- highly preferred
Attorney preferred
