About the role
As a cybersecurity analyst, you will have a strong desire to advance your career in an environment that exposes you to continuous learningAs part of the cybersecurity team at magna5, you will bolster our managed cybersecurity response and initial incident handling while also working with a larger cybersecurity team handling incidents and hardening our customer’s environmentsWhile in this role, you can grow your knowledge, experience, and skillset to be considered for advancement opportunities to other teams within the company.
Cybersecurity analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:?
Respond to customer events through suite of cybersecurity tools
Triage and analyze alarms/incidents for potential threats
Ensure customer data and systems are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
Participate in incident response as part of our 24x7x365 security operation center
Interact with clients using professionalism and promptness?
Work to solve problems through collaboration with team members?
Maintain quality customer service skills in all forms of communication?
Proactive approach to incidents to decrease reoccurring issues?
Handle daily/weekly administrative tasks and reporting
Engage in continued certification training to improve their skillset?
Opportunities to participate in internal projects and designs?
Willingness to certify and maintain relevant certifications
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation?
Track time, activity, and communication through magna5’s suite of applications
What you bring to the team
An associatebachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, system administration or cybersecurity
A strong passion and understanding of cybersecurity practices
Analytical thought process, who can investigate and provide remediation actions
Enjoy working in a team environment and support multiple customer incidents at a time?
Ability to prioritize workload base on severity of requests?
Possess a strong curiosity and enjoy learning new technologyThis position will provide exposure to a wide variety of cybersecurity technologies?
An ideal candidate will enjoy troubleshooting and thinking outside the box?
Possess an excellent work ethic and set an example for others?
Msp/mssp or professional service experience are bonus points??
Azure or aws cybersecurity certifications?
Proven experience on platforms such as hackthebox, tryhackme, etc.
Contribution in cybersecurity competitions such as capture the flags, etc.
Basic proficiency with scripting languages (powershell, python)
Basic familiarity with threat actor methods: (mitre att&ck framework, powershell, command prompt, wmic, scheduled tasks, windows domain and host enumeration techniques, lateral movement techniques, persistence mechanisms, defense evasion techniques)
Experience working with the following is recommend:
Security event monitoring
Cloud security (azure/microsoft365)
Security & awareness training management
Familiarity with the following is a plus:
Networking technologies: (network protocols, ports, and segmentation techniques such as vlansNetwork address translation, ip addressing, dns, firewalls, ids/ips, load balancers, remote access methods)
Windows domain administration: (active directory, group policy, powershell, patching)
Network analysis: (wireshark, log analysis)
Hours & schedule
This position is primarily business hours (monday-friday 8am – 5pm est) with occasional after-hours work for incidentsAll engineers are part of an on-call rotation and may be escalated issues off hours.
