Jacobs is currently seeking a Corporate Accounting (US) a Subject Matter Expert to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment who will drive and deliver excellence in Jacobs’ Corporate Accounting Group. We are looking for a team player with the desire to be an active, long-term contributor in the growth of the accounting teams and organization overall. This role would be located in Mumbai, India and support primarily GBS GL Mumbai team, but will report to the Corporate Accounting and its Compliance function (either directly or through its representatives in GBS Krakow, Poland).
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting GBS GL team in Mumbai and ensuring all duties performed and reviewed within the team are in compliance with US GAAP, Company policies and procedures, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
Ensuring that applicable process narratives pertaining to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements are followed by the team without exceptions
Supporting the Corporate Accounting team and its Compliance function in providing technical guidance, development and maintenance of policies and procedures for global accounting activities and continuous improvement process including automation and acceleration
Supporting harmonization and standardization of the processes between GBS locations and regions supported by GBS teams
Strong ownership and sense of responsibility for both assigned process areas and ad hoc tasks and requests, as needed
Coordinating, reviewing, or preparing various flux analysis for P&L and balance sheet
Reviewing of schedules, journal entries and account reconciliations
Ensuring proper categorization of balance sheet amounts
Reviewing expenses to determine proper classification, timing, and recognition
Providing support as needed to external auditors
Preparing ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested
Experience in USGAAP, IFRS and Auditing is mandatory
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
A minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience to include at least 3-4 years of public accounting/audit experience in Big 4
Relevant multinational, industry experience, preferably also in GBS/BPO/SSC sector
Ability to demonstrate understanding of consolidations, international accounting, reporting issues and global process understanding
Ability to demonstrate strong technical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of lead or supervisory experience is desired
Experience with a large ERP system, preferably Oracle
Ability to collaborate with others
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
Ability to work in a fast, dynamic environment, and prioritize competing priorities
Active CPA license (or equivalent) required
