The junior business analyst – hospital billing is a full time, regular position working monday-friday 8:30am-5pmThis is a remote position with occasional onsite meetings at inland imaging business center downtown spokane.
Summary: the junior data analyst – hospital billing applies their knowledge of healthcare and practice management applications to support various business critical systems and reporting features of the practice management systemsThis position works to identify and recommend improvements in support applications, work-lists and related workflowsThe junior data analyst – hospital billing is responsible for supporting multiple practice management applications for the clients of cboThe expectation of this position is to complete the position duties/responsibilities with moderate direct supervision from the business analyst
General description: the junior data analyst – hospital billing interacts with other departments within cbo, its clients, and its vendorsThis position analyzes structure and workflow to recommend changes to improve overall system operationsThe junior data analyst – hospital billing creates reports and worklists based on data retrieved from core practice management systemsThis position must be able to work closely with a team of people in accomplishing the data reporting needs of cbo and its clients.

Daily update of cboss
O retrieving reports for uploado uploading system when reports are finalized * reviewing and uploading daily statement files to vendor
Uploading daily claims files into waystar
O working with waystar or payer to locate missing remits
Managing/maintaining client volume reports
O summit/whitman daily and weekly basis
Retrieving and uploading of sp a/r reports for automated phone calls
O running automated dialer for clients; summit/whitman/skyline/trh/kvh
Assist in organization of share folders for new server
O development of sp and insurance training documentation
Assist in running month end reports as needed (i.eDenials)
Assist in developing and maintaining new more efficient workflows
Back up for tammy
O cross training to cover for vacations/sick time
O contributes to the maintenance of appropriate technical documentation for worklists, client system uploads, optima c and data warehouse.
O provides application support to user requests, including worklist configuration and prioritization, impacting operational workflow.
O maintains system functionality and troubleshoots errors.
O creates & maintains custom reports.
O assists in training and workflow analysis.
Practice management applications solutions:
O participates in identifying and providing input for solutions and improvements to our reporting systems.o works with the healthcare solutions team in operational and organizational analysis to identify areas of needed improvement.o designs workflows, processes, data flow and other solutions with customer’s systems and business practices* project responsibilities:
O demonstrates worklist and /or application functionality to appropriate personnel as requested.o participates in the projects of the hospital billing team.o acts as a liaison between srOperations manager and staff on worklist related issues.
Upgrades – new versions:
O contributes to the development of training plans and conducts training for users on worklists.o contributes to the development and participates in the execution of work-flow based test plans for upgrades and new software deployments.o works with the hospital billing, customer service and it to ensure the overall success of all upgrades* job knowledge:
O develops and maintains fundamental knowledge of practice management applications user functionality, whether implemented or not.o develops and maintains fundamental knowledge, at a server or back-end level, of sql based data repositories and reporting utilities.o develops and maintains fundamental knowledge, from a user perspective, of practice management applications workflow.o maintains fundamental analytical skills in the use of excel, ms access, sql query language and other reporting utilities.o maintains fundamental knowledge of healthcare data transfer standards, such as hl7, odbc, and ftp* customer advocacy:
O works closely with customers to provide consultation on solutions to business problems.o creates the necessary professional documents outlining these solutions.o communicates and manages the project and task based deliverables to customers and management on behalf of the patient accounts team* schedule requirements:
O this position requires the ability, knowledge and professionalism to support critical medical applications that demand a 24×7 uptime, which will require flexible work schedules including evenings and weekends.o the junior business analyst – hospital billing is responsible for supporting cbo staff may extend to non-scheduled work time, where immediate support may be required.

Qualifications:
Education: bachelor’s degree in mis, information science, computer science, software, engineering, business, other related field or equivalent experience
Experience & knowledge:
O required: experience in supporting relational database management reporting systems. two years of experience in revenue cycle and/or hospital billing management. one to two of experience in healthcare workflow such as epic, meditech, or emr/ehr or equivalent training. moderate to high skill level in microsoft excel, including macro’s, pivot tables, data sorting, conditional formatting, etc. moderate to high skill level in microsoft access database use, functions.o desired: hospital billing office or other medical facility experience. fundamental knowledge of practice management systems and related functionality * computer applications: experience with the following computer applications is highly desired:
O microsoft office products (outlook, word, power point, access, visio, publisher)o one to two years of experience with sql,o crystal reports or other reporting solutions is required* drug test: eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test which includes marijuana.
