Re-calculate net salaries considering deductions and withholdings to ensure 100% payroll accuracy
Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
Update general ledger and payroll files
Prepare accounting files, records, and schedules
Prepare data for actuarial valuation as per the relevant gaap and coordinating with the actuaries to get the final report
Process overtime earnings or holiday deductions
Resolve payroll issues with the payroll vendors
Answer employee questions concerning payroll
Participate in payroll/ statutory audits
Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes
Analyse payroll cost periodically and provide variance report to leadership
Provide effective financial reporting over payroll costs to the management
Compliance:
Lead the local compliance including but not limited to:
Payroll compliances like pt, pf, tds, lwf etc
All other statutory returns and payments
Support ad hoc requests for preparing and providing information as and when required by statutory authorities
Mandatory requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a payroll accountant, or in a similar role
Experience with payroll vendor excelity will be a big plus
Extensive experience in preparing ledger entries and processing payments
Hands-on with local tax, compliance, and regulations
Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports, as well as answering payroll inquiries.
Ability to maintain and update employees` payroll files.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and customer service skills
Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external personnel
Managing multiple priorities simultaneously through strong prioritization, and organization skills.
