The insurance specialist / paraplanner will primarily assist financial advisor(s) and associate financial advisor(s) in the financial planning workflowThis position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
This role provides client relationship support through managing, gathering, and analyzing client data, helping prepare insurance quotes and other client deliverables, working with clients to resolve issues and other practice management tasks as neededResponds to ad hoc requests, coordinates/tracks projects and/or manages business-as-usual projects.
Compensation
Salary range $60,000 – $70,000Compensation commensurate with relevant experienceGroup medical, dental, life & disability401k after one-year employmentHolidays and paid time off per company policy.
Open to in-person at office locations in orlando, fl, alcoa, tn, knoxville, tn, sevierville, tnIf you are not located close to a physical office, remote work is considered for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities and time allocation – will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.
Position functions and responsibilities:
Communication
Responsible for assisting in the needs within the insurance department
Regularly updating advisors and, head of marketing & advisor development, on all insurance management activities
Promptly documenting insurance activities in crm
Insurance product solutions
Prepare preliminary quotes for financial planning recommendations and initial product solutions for advisor review and use in client meetings
Prepare charts, graphs, tables, and other visual aids to be used in implementation meetings with clients
Client care / practice management
Act as the primary contact for all client-related insurance questions and issues including premiums and benefits.
Communicate with clients regarding financial planning and insurance process in a timely manner.
Stay on top of trends for various insurance vehicles and financial planning and communicated with staff.
Run insurance quotes and illustrationsRequest information directly from the carrier as needed.
Review and submit all new applications for life, long term care and disability coverageObtain information as necessary, confirm receipt and follow-up until case is placed and policies delivered.
Maintain insurance contact information, update, and notify staff of any changes.
Train advisors and staff on new insurance products and strategiesProvide education on existing client policies and benefits.
Uncover insurance opportunities within three weeks of upcoming meeting.
Responsible for the guiding clients through the insurance underwriting process as well as obtain and submit any underwriting requirements.
Submit all delivery requirements to the insurance carrier once insurance policies are approved.
Responsible for maintaining advisors up to date on the progress of the underwriting process.
Hold one on ones with advisors on a weekly basis.
Utilize resources such as, home office and riversource.

Required qualifications
College degree or higher preferred
2+ years of similar experience
Already have series 7, and state life, accident, and health insurance licenses
Already have series 66, or be able to study for and pass exam within six months of hire
