Creating peace of mind by pioneering safety and security at allegion, we help keep the people you know and love safe and secure where they live, work and visitWith more than 30 brands, 11,000+ employees globally and products sold in 130 countries, we specialize in security around the doorway and beyondCybersecurity & privacy counsel – remote us the allegion privacy office is a fast-growing team responsible for the global privacy programYou will be a key member of the team as we automate privacy processes with digital toolsYou will also have exposure to our senior leaders including our executive leadership teamThe privacy team is not only focused on privacy issues related to allegion internal processes and employee data, but also allegion’s commercial and consumer security products and solutionsAs a global security company, you will advise internal clients on laws such as california consumer privacy act, general data protection regulation, and other global privacy and data protections laws and regulationsAs this is a global role, there will be opportunities to travel internationallyThe privacy counsel role will report to the deputy general counsel and chief privacy officer of allegionWhat you will do:
Maintain subject matter expertise in areas of privacy and data protection laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, gdpr and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on allegion’s business
Advise key stakeholders on relevant cybersecurity laws
Evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on product features
Advise business team clients, such as hr, communications, and engineering teams, on privacy requirements
Support members of the legal, business, and policy teams on privacy-related legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities
Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across allegion’s business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments
Help draft and oversee the development and management of allegion’s terms and data policies across the full range of allegion’s different products
Help to develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings across allegion
Manage internal privacy compliance programs and controls programs and processes to ensure we meet our obligations
Collaborate with the information security team to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, and investigations, including incident response
What you will need to succeed:
3+ years of legal experience including at a law firm and/or prior in-house experience
J.dDegree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one us state bar
Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines
Business judgment and client counseling experience
Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment including the ability to influence others

Compensation: this range is provided by allegionYour actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
The expected base salary range: $150,000 – $185,000The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
