Description
Reporting to the director of enterprise applications, the it analyst will be responsible for assisting departments across campus in the reporting of banner data via argos, as well as managing data integrations between banner and connected third party systemsThis position will have responsibility for assisting with the management of systems in the banner environment.
Supervision received:
Reports directly to the director of enterprise applications; remote work will be considered.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Utilize argos and other software tools to create and maintain reports for internal and external use
Create and modify database objects as needed to support reporting from banner and associated systems
Write and maintain the necessary procedures and scripts to allow the interfacing of banner with university approved 3rd party products (e.gSlate, adirondack, imodules)
Assist with the management of systems in the banner environment
Oel, rhel, tomcat, oracle rdbms, ellucian ethos
Data warehouse and analytics (future)
Document management (future)
Participate in data governance activities
Enforce university policies for data access through maintaining user account permissions in banner
Assist with other cnit tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education and professional experience:
(a) bachelor’s degree in technology-related major
(b) experience working with an erp platform
(c) experience with enterprise reporting and/or analytics software
(d) experience with a linux operating system
(e) experience with a relational database
Preferred experience
(a) experience working with the banner erp
(b) experience working with argos and/or tableau
(c) experience with oel and/or rhel
(d) experience with oracle rdbms 19+
Supplemental information
Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to analyze and interpret institutional data to support decision making
Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues involving institutional data
Ability to write reports in a report writing tool or using a scripting language
Argos, sql, pl/sql
Ability to write sql commands to query and extract data
Ability to design and write linux shell scripts to perform tasks
Familiarity with linux administration (rhel, oel)
Familiarity with web server administration (tomcat)
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Ability to relate to diverse cross-sections of individuals.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Ability to travel as needed or required, work evenings and / or weekends as needed.
Tools and equipment used: knowledge of operation and use of various office equipment including, but not limited to: personal computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software, integrated database software, fax machine, copier, telephone, scanner, and printersThe employee in this position must have a valid ohio driver’s license.
