Position summary:
The spatial biology business development manager will 1) implement campaigns and programs that will support attainment of the academic team’s business goals, 2) partner with the marketing team to drive awareness of acd branded products within the spatial biology research community 3) devise product positioning strategies to drive focus on the appropriate target customers with a compelling acd value propositionThis role will report directly into the srDirector of sales.
Key responsibilities:
Partner with sales managers to devise and execute on tactical strategies that will achieve the assigned revenue goals for the academic business.
Partner with the marketing team to devise and execute on customer programs, awareness campaigns to drive new customer acquisition and broader awareness of acd products.
This role will serve as an expert selling resource for the academic sales executives when engaged in scientifically complex selling and competitive selling situations.
Develop into an academic market thought leader for sbd.
Develop kol programs and a network of reference customers to provide advocacy of acd products and defend against competitors.
Develop effective sales tools in support of academic commercial excellence.
Identify new market opportunities by matching the strengths and differentiating benefits of acd products with the unmet market needs of academic customers.
Conduct voice of customer on an ongoing basis and provide constructive feedback to internal partners to drive any needed improvements in the customer experience.
Requires heavy collaboration with internal partners in marketing, r&d, technical support, etcTo ensure that the most recent and valuable information is being shared with key customers in a timely manner.
Capture and report market intelligence on competitive platforms operating in the spatial biology market space.
Participate in symposia, conferences and customer meetings as a speaker or as subject matter expert on acd products.
The role will collaborate with other commercial leaders in apac and emea regions to establish best practices and winning strategies that will result in aggressive growth for the sbd.
Field travel, as necessary.
Education and experience:
Ph.dOr m.sDegree in molecular biology or related scientific discipline
Sales experience is a plus.
Experience in public speaking to scientific audiences
Expertise in spatial genomics applications
Experience in project and/or campaign management
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Results oriented with track record of completing projects/assignments
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
Highly adaptable and independent
Organized and resourceful
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence
Work remotely or in the newark office, with field travel as necessary
Experience with salesforce.com
Experience with microsoft office software products
