Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the Engineering Services Center (ESC) in the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi. The incumbent conducts surveys, inspections, routine and preventive maintenance, hardware repairs and replacement and emergency repairs of Forced Entry (FE) and Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) products (doors, windows, glazing units, louvers, and vault doors) and associated Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) door hardware systems deployed by Overseas Building Operations (OBO) and Diplomatic Security (DS) at U.S. Diplomatic missions, and OBO-owned and/or leased facilities (to include Consular Agencies in the designated region of responsibility). The incumbent will be required to study and make recommendations for ways to improve the effectiveness of the Physical Security Systems at U.S. Diplomatic Missions in Engineering Services Center (ESC) New Delhi’s area of responsibility (AOR) to include but not limited to Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kathmandu, Nepal, Colombo, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Kabul, Afghanistan, Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan, Almaty, Kazakhstan, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned. Note: The incumbent should have the ability to lift 75 pounds.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: This position requires three years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical/electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic, and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, and requires experience reading and interpreting Architectural and Engineering Design drawings. Education Requirements:
This position requires completion of High school (Class 12) in addition to two years of apprenticeship or an advanced equivalent local level of occupational training as technician, electrician, or mechanic .

LANGUAGE:
Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Indian Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.
Please attach a copy of the valid Indian driving license with the application along with all the mandatory/required documents. Applications which do not have a copy of the license will not be accepted.
Please note: U.S. Government regulations require all Chauffeurs or Incidental drivers for official vehicles to be 25 years of age or older. We will not consider candidates below 25 years of age. Any applicant that possess a valid driving license issued for less than5 years will not be considered. If an applicant had renewed their driver’s license they must attach a copy of both old and current driver’s license in order for HR to confirm the issuance date.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
