The loss control consultant will:
Maintain excellent professional relationships with clients and ensure continuous client satisfaction by organizing an efficient schedule of client visits, trainings, and administrative work.
Evaluate existing and prospective clients through the risk management assessment for all business segments and lines of insurance coverage that may include workers compensation, commercial auto, general liability, and property.
Perform initial loss control assessments and partner with clients to create, implement, and maintain tailored risk improvement plans and loss control service plans.
Conduct the necessary site inspections, surveys, audits, training, and consultation to accomplish
Individual clients` loss control service plan.
Take leadership and ownership for creative and effective risk management solutions that will further develop overall strategic best practices with the goal of maximizing value creation and innovation.
Interact with carriers` claims and other loss control professionals to support management with claim management activities.
Develop and present training sessions for internal and external customers and various industry
Groups; develop training plans and track safety training for competent person training, task training, equipment training, etc.
Analyze prior losses to determine trends and problems regarding both frequency and severity.
Support management in the accident investigation process focused on future prevention of reoccurrence.
Analyze project data, establish trends, performance goals, and indicators, and communicate learning points to client teams.
Assist with project pre-planning activities.
Record keeping and data entry
Facilitate members and safety committee meetings.
Review policies, procedures, and risk management initiatives to determine local, state, and federal regulations, non-compliance and missing policies/procedures.
Participating monthly meetings to communicate progress; or more frequent if dictated by development plan.
Support and guide management teams in completing newly defined processes and procedures.
Participate in local association events and other networking opportunities.
Some travel will be expected in this role within state.
Requirements:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Minimum of 3 years of risk management/loss control experienceHeavy consideration will be given to candidates with municipality, fire, police, and street department loss mitigation.
Professional designations preferred or working towards (csp, cpcu, arm, cih, ohst, cfps, etc.)
Broad knowledge and experience in risk management, risk financing, risk assessment, risk strategy, and claims management.
The ability to help create and implement a strategic vision about risk and obtain buy-in throughout multiple organizations.
Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying viewpoints and to develop viable solutions.
Demonstrated ability to analyze claims and work with cfos, ceos, counsel, and other high-level directors to resolve coverage issues.
Strong project management skills – results-driven and adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
