Full job description
We are looking for a print graphic designer to join our team.
You will be working with our director of operations, our production team, and language teams to ensure that our printed educational material meets our quality standards, is up to date, looks consistent, and gets delivered on time to the families we’re helping learn a foreign language.
Updates vary and include fixing typos, updating or adding new translations, changing layouts to improve the learning experience, updating colors, fonts, bleeds, and combining or un-combining print files to meet to our printers’ specifications.
Hours & place of work
This is a full time position in dallas, texas, specifically farmers branch near 35e and 635.
There is a possibility for flexible work hours as well as a mix of in office and remote work.
Duties and responsibilities
Our content update designer will primarily be responsible for:
Coordinating with the production team to prioritize updates needed in existing products based on order requests.
Coordinating with language teams to investigate and solve language-related issues and establish detailed listings of the updates needed in existing products (typos, translations, missing audio) as well as requesting new audio from voice artists.
Coordinating with contractors to get audio recordings edited and ready to be uploaded in our app.
Coordinating with the product manager and ceo to review final guidelines for the updates.
Updating existing products in indesign and illustrator while ensuring consistency throughout all printed material.
Reporting and tracking progress in monday.com (project management software).
Managing tasks and priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
Reviewing, suggesting, and revising standard operating procedures for your position (sops are files we use to document all tasks company-wide to ensure continuity, consistency, and efficiency in everything we do).
If you have experience in the following areas, it’s a plus!
You have experience designing curriculums or educational material.
You’re a homeschooling parent or have experience in the education field.
You speak one or more foreign language(s).
You’re familiar with project management systems such as monday.com and the google suite (shared drives, docs, sheets).
Skills and abilities
You have fluent knowledge of the adobe creative suite—especially illustrator & indesign.
You have a good understanding of how to use brand and design guidelines.
You make a point of documenting your work in a work os (ours is monday.com) as you do it and reporting to your project manager.
You’re not afraid of working with languages that you can’t read because you’re excellent at following processes meticulously without skipping steps.
You understand the importance of documenting processes so they can be replicated to consistently reach for perfect quality throughout our products.
You attach great importance to meeting deadlines.
You always strive for excellence in your work.
All your friends and family know that you are amazing at paying great attention to details.
You’re able to work at speed while maintaining concentration.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and can work with team members from all around the world, in different time zones, and from various cultural backgrounds.
You’re someone who is confident bringing up discrepancies and asking questions for clarification, about anything that could be off with the designs.
You’re willing to join a growth-oriented team and always looking for opportunities to improve your skills.
