Role Summary
Sun Life is executing a large-scale organizational transformation called Digital Enterprise, which focuses on putting clients at the centre of everything we do, being digital at heart, and working faster together. As part of this transformation, we’re creating this new role at Sun Life with a mandate of scaling agile delivery and maturing Digital across Sun Life’s Canada business.
The successful candidate will lead the critical Engineering chapters and CoEs. What will you do? Establish a clear vision and purpose for the newly created Engineering domain.
You will own delivery of teams/squads working for Platforms and Engineering from ASC India working closely with DBTS teams in Canada.

You will own and drive programs as part of ASC Next strategy to help us achieve our ambition to become a digital hub, and a powerhouse of engineering and tech talent for Sun Life.
Core Responsibility
· Bring together engineers, developers, principal solution engineers, sub domain architects across multiple technologies e.g Distributed technologies, integration skills, Mainframe, Pega, Salesforce etc organized by chapters of similar roles and skills.
· Define and implement contemporary engineering culture and best practices and deepen Engineering talent at ASC
· Drive DBTS strategy for legacy modernization at SunLife
· Partner with DBTS / Business Groups to drive digital experience and co innovate to solve business problems
· Work hand in hand with other Digital Enterprise domain leaders to ensure consistency in how chapters are structured to successfully support the DE Canada Digital Strategy.
· Oversee resource management, planning, budgeting and talent acquisition across the project management, scrum master and agile coach roles.
· Work closely with journey / platform execution groups to understand their needs and enable successful delivery for Sun Life Canada.
· Own and drive programs as part of ASC Next strategy to help us achieve our ambition to become a digital hub, and a powerhouse of engineering and tech talent for Sun Life.
· Develop and execute a talent strategy that enables career progression and mobility, and professional development for agile coaches and scrum masters. Anticipate future needs for critical skills / competencies and develop workforce plans to meet them.
· Partner with Sun Life’s Digital Enterprise team to support Sun Life Canada’s DE transformation roadmap. Participate in planning and mobilization activities as each SLF Canada business group goes through their respective transformation activities. Enable teams to be successful by providing necessary tools, coaching, change management and other support services.
· Provide Delivery governance for the squads/hubs at ASC for Client/advisor Journeys and platforms
· Develop and manage organizational expertise within the Chapter discipline
· Manage and develop capabilities within their Chapter through coaching, training, and mentoring
· Manage structure and people of the Engineering Domain
· Engage with partner for improving the delivery and adding value to the business
· Work with Agile team members in resolving delivery impediments
