Join the office of faculty development and diversity (ofdd) to support the development of policies and practices to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (dei) at stanford medicine.
We are seeking candidates who are resourceful, collaborative, service-oriented, and experienced in supporting faculty and executive level leadership.

Reporting into the associate dean for faculty development and diversity, you will administer, support, and manage the dei faculty recruitment processes for ofdd as a faculty recruitment partnerYou will promote equitable faculty search processes across the school of medicine’s departments and will be a resource to the departments on dei recruitmentThis office serves to develop faculty to their fullest potential as academic, clinical, and community leaders and to promote the recruitment and retention of diverse facultyTo achieve these goals, ofdd must continue to work toward creating an organizational culture that values the contributions of all members, encourages a broad and open approach to teaching, research, and patient care, and provides an intellectually and socially attractive environment for all peopleHttps://med.stanford.edu/facultydiversity.html
Faculty recruitment partner responsibilities include consulting with department faculty search committees and directly supporting search chair, faculty affairs administrator, and diversity representative throughout the search process from crafting job descriptions to ensuring diverse outreach and establishing equitable evaluation processesSuccessful candidates should be knowledgeable of best practices for dei in recruiting and have prior hr or faculty-specific recruitment experienceUltimately, this position will help to attract and retain a diverse and inclusive faculty workforce.
Duties include:
Independently provide subject matter expertise and guidance to department faculty search committees, including search chair, faculty affairs administrator, and diversity representative throughout the search processAdvise and make recommendations on varied topics, from organization alignment, crafting job descriptions to ensuring diverse outreach, and establishing equitable evaluation processesEngage in dialogue and strategic process improvement with departments across the som to assure that search committees are aware of and using best practices with regards to dei.
Partner with departments to proactively gather pertinent information and data on the department, the faculty role to be filled, needs and challenges of the area to influence the committees to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in their search processes.
Create and maintain a directory of sources to post job descriptions and support proactive outreach across diverse populations throughout the stanford medicine enterprise.
With search committee chair and diversity representative, monitor diversity metrics within applicant pools, long lists, and definitive lists across each search and with comparison pools provided by the association of american medical collegesUnderstand and identify unusual shifts in the composition from one stage to the next and provide search chair with an analysis of what the data is showing, along with some suggestions about how to remedy or revisit decisions.
Stay abreast of and analyze trends in the dei space to inform approach to consult servicesCollect data and create metrics on consult service to engage leadership in the som (ofdd and oaa) with recommendations on how to streamline services, build resources and provide appropriate training to institutionalize dei processes in all faculty searches.
Provide guidance to search committee chairs, faculty affairs administrators, and the search’s diversity representative on processes and policies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the faculty search process.
Develop systematic processes for search committees to source, network with and proactively reach out to underrepresented in medicine candidates; women, people with disabilities or other underrepresented groupsThis may include maintaining lists of appropriate fellowships, various discipline-specific awards, and/or grants.
Support search committee chair, diversity representative, and faculty affairs administrator in maximizing usage of the faculty applicant tracking system for equitable search processes.
Identify key academic conferences and venues to conduct diverse outreach
Train departmental staff across the som on diversity sourcingHelp design and lead sourcing and recruiting campaign strategies.

Desired qualifications:
Knowledge of best practices for dei in recruiting.
Knowledge of the faculty hiring process in an academic context, academic medicine preferred.
Ability to partner with and influence senior faculty and administrators.
Five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experiences in the hr, dei, or faculty affairs space
Education & experience (required):
Bachelor`s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, skills and abilities (required):
Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task.
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
Physical requirements*:
