Restless Development- India
Restless Development is registered in India as Student Partnership World Wide India Project Trust. The registration is as a public charitable trust under registration number 330 of 2000. The organization is also registered under Income tax 12AA, 80 G and FCRA.
Restless Development has been working in India since 1985. We are committed to mobilizing young people as an effective human resource in development efforts, empowering young people living in poor communities, and directly influencing the government to develop youth-focused policies. We currently work on livelihoods and employment, health and governance, and civic participation across the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Delhi, reaching over 100,000 people each year.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team at Restless Development India, which is undertaking cutting edge youth-led and focused programmes in India on key priorities of young people.
The Position Summary includes-
1) Youth Mobilisation and Engagement
Mobilise and engage young people for campaigns and events and engage alumni constructively
Identify priority conferences, meetings, campaigns and events in India and internationally for Restless Development attendancto get our issues onto the agenda and strengthen national and global policy discourse on our advocacy priorities.
Work closely with the Country Director on planning our participation in these spaces, leading on specific elements of the delivery such as.
Advising on the development of relevant policy materials to support our representation and influencing at events.
Recruitment, training and participation of youth delegates from our alumni and national networks as appropriate.
High quality events and activities as appropriate to deliver against our advocacy strategy.
Attend relevant policy events for intel gathering and learning, capture key points and share these systematically with colleagues / partners as relevant.
2) Partner Cultivation and Network Building
Represent Restless Development India at key conferences and meetings to build continuous support for Restless Development India approach and strategy or facilitate other members of the India team to be representatives where appropriate
Produce regular network updates for mailing list members , including influencing opportunities and members view
Map key stakeholders in relation to our goals and develop engagement/cultivation plans with input from relevant staff
Develop generic donor communication materials in collaboration with the Restless Development India Communications lead.
3) Volunteer Management
Development of volunteer selection, training and review processes and train implementation teams in their delivery
Develop processes and materials and train teams to support testing, adaptation and documentation of the programme model; ensuring all volunteers receive high quality, suitable support to participate and develop during the programme.
Put in place support structures for teams and volunteers to enable operational management of the volunteer journey programme delivery, and volunteer reporting by implementing state teams – including working with Restless Development safeguarding leads to ensure systems are in place and teams and volunteers trained on welfare, safety and security, and safeguarding policy and practice.
Management and maintenance of volunteer database, designing volunteer feedback mechanisms, and supporting data collection
and analysis to ensure the volunteer journey reflects volunteer experience, and that data on reported challenges, successes, and
best practice is reflected in the Restless Development’s programmatic decision making
4) Financial Planning and Management
Adhere to Restless Development India’s financial policies in all aspects of work
Managing activity budgets for activities such as volunteer debrief and trainings
Provide accurate narrative reports of funds spent to allow prompt reporting
5) Other
Undertake any work that is assigned beyond the responsibilities as above
Other duties as required such as representing Restless Development at meetings and during field visits
Occasionally working on weekends and holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken
