Job Title: Database Architect

Job Overview:

A Database Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s databases. They work closely with application developers, system administrators,

and other IT staff to ensure that databases are designed and implemented in a manner that maximizes their efficiency, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain the company’s database architecture, including database schema design, data modeling, and database infrastructure planning

– Ensure that databases are optimized for maximum performance and scalability

– Design, implement and maintain database security protocols, ensuring that data is protected from unauthorized access and malicious attacks

– Work with application developers to design and implement database interfaces that meet the needs of the application

– Collaborate with system administrators to ensure that database infrastructure is properly configured, backed up, and maintained

– Develop and maintain documentation for database systems, including data dictionaries, technical specifications, and system diagrams

– Monitor database performance and tune systems for optimal performance

– Stay current with new database technologies and best practices, and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate

– Assist in troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues as needed

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field

– 5+ years of experience in database design, development, and administration

– Strong understanding of database management systems, including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases

– Experience with database security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and auditing

– Proficiency in SQL and other database query languages

– Familiarity with database modeling and design tools, such as ERwin or Visio

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
