Role summary the ‘commercial demand/supply alignment director (dsa)’ will be responsible for leading the demand/supply alignment process and forum for key constrained plants for the biopharma networkThis forum includes key commercial, manufacturing, r&d, and other stakeholder colleagues and seeks to drive agile decision-making between demand and supply to optimize the patient and financial impact of the constrained supply in the near and long termRole responsibilities
Lead ‘dsa’ process and forum meetings, and ultimately drive real time decisions to optimize demand and supply
Acts as the primary commercial point of contact for all demand/supply alignment activities, including commercial trade off decisions, commercial prioritization, and allocations.
Responsible for robust, unbiased assessment, recommendation and decision making for enterprise benefit across the biopharma businesses and tracks and reports results.
Responsible for in-line products and mid-term (e.g., up to ~24 months) planning related to pipeline and upcoming launches.
Develops a clear view of product development and launch supply needs to ensure commercial and pgs alignment.
Drive commercial and capacity evaluation of npl portfolio assigned to the constrained plant across the lifecycle, provide prioritization decision and follow through on changes to priorities.
Lead and drive upside opportunities in partnership with commercial/product/business leads based on open capacity, competitive intelligence input and market potential
Understands demand drivers and changes to demand plan, including potential upside opportunities
Provide inputs to cost & pricing competitiveness on any opportunities related to under-utilized capacity for incremental sales
Support inventory target setting process for prioritized products balancing trading off against lower profitability products and npls
Partner with manufacturing, finance, medical and commercial to understand and forecast the impact of global supply risks (patient, financial, strategic impact)
Determine and monitor key supply performance metrics that will be used to predict future expected performance of the site and associated impact to the business
Synthesize internal and external competitive intelligence into detailed supply and inventory planning
Informs relevant bu, regional, country leadership and s&op committees as to plant performance, dsa decisions, and/or financial impact
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field required; advanced degree in quantitative field is preferred
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations, commercial, analytics, management consulting, or related discipline within the pharmaceutical industry
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship skills
Ability to understand and leverage large data sets containing commercial, finance, and manufacturing information for strategic decision making
Strong problem solving skills within complex environments
