Job Functions

The Technical Project Manager/Scrum Master (TPM/SM) will be responsible for managing the Project and Release lifecycle for Nissan’s product offerings. This role is for a strong leader with technical acumen who will work with cross-functional teams spanning multiple groups and technology disciplines. Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and able to effectively manage multiple work streams.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on agile project management skills, large cross-functional projects from definition to launch. Should have strong focus on Data and metrics for decision-making and continuous improvement.

As a Technical Program Manager On The Team

• At the heart of this role is delivery. You will be hands-on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.
• You will have to collaborate with Nissan’s business/functional partners and technology leadership in defining features backlog and specifying requirements focused on business priorities and business outcomes.
• You will work closely with leadership, including executive leadership, to define the product and provide updates on the program.
• Strong combination of communication and problem solving skills with the ability to listen to Nissan’s business partners’ needs and translate into actionable solutions.
• You will work alongside Data Scientists and Data Engineers and the business to utilize a vast amount of data to build common analytic platforms across Nisasn’s diverse businesses.
• Strong experience using Agile Scrum and Kanban, should be well equipped with metrics including cycle time, velocity etc.
• You will be responsible for organizing and facilitating scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, release planning.
• Helps product owner to make the product backlogs in good shape and make them ready for the next sprint.
• Be a genuine self-starter needing no prompting to get going, and be able to observe and then take action to improve the team delivery.
• Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies.
• Strong background culture of delivering projects with First time right and Zero defects in Production.
• Knowledge and experience in Java / Spring based application development
• Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing applications based on micro services architecture using Spring Boot.
• Experience with web servers, service oriented architectures, web services (both ReST and SOAP), security practices, database technologies.
• Experience using DevOps, CI/CD, delivery pipeline culture.
• Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.
• Strong experience working with onsite/offshore model and should be well verse with overcoming challenges in a distributed delivery teams.

Experience & Expertise

• Minimum qualification – BS/BE or MS from premium schools in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of technical Agile project management experience and as Scrum Master.
• Experience in working with agile lifecycle, tracking and process management tools, e.g. JIRA, Rally.
• PMP, PMI-ACP / Certified Scrum Master certification is a plus.
• Strong work experience in Java / J2ee with projects on Web Technologies.
• Working knowledge of Front End Frameworks on JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery to name a few.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with Peer groups, Development team, Project Managers, Business Partners and Senior Management.
