Position overview
Nbme® is seeking a diversity, equity, and inclusion (dei) director who will report to and work in partnership with the chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer to further the organization`s dei strategyThe dei director will serve as the lead for the dei advisory council and will oversee the organization`s employee resource groupsThe dei director will play an integral role in the continuing development of nbme`s dei strategy, in alignment with its mission and strategic goalsThis influential and highly visible leadership role is charged with developing and executing roadmaps to advance dei for the organizationThis individual will be responsible for shaping, influencing, managing, and delivering on the organization`s strategy given internal and external trends, and emerging opportunities.
This role requires an inclusive and collaborative leader comfortable with interacting and engaging with all levels of the organizationThe ability to influence actions and outcomes without direct accountability and to be an integrator across organizational boundaries is crucial to the success of this role given its impact across nbme`s culture, strategy, employee-engagement, employer-branding, and talent-development efforts, as well as with external stakeholders and community organizations.

This role has been designated as primarily remote which means it generally does not require onsite work more than an average of 2-3 times per month and may require additional prescheduled onsite workWe`re open to considering candidates in the following states: pa, nj, de and md.

Responsiblities
Develop multi-year dei strategy, implementation plan, goals, metrics, and budget
Partner with chief dei officer and executive leadership to ensure dei goals are tied to strategic business goals and embedded throughout all initiatives
Provide strategic leadership on policies, best practices and change management in dei to further a climate of equity and inclusiveness
Partner with business unit leaders and serve as a dei thought leader
Provide oversight of dei advisory council and employee resource groups
Clearly articulate and reinforce dei strategy and the organization`s business case for diversity
Work closely with executive leadership, hr, and talent management to develop internal education and learning and development programs
Leverage expertise to advise hr and ensure the inclusiveness of core people and talent-related processes, retention and promotion processes, and assist with targeted diversity recruiting efforts
Define metrics that measure impact of dei program; track progress against metrics that drive dei accountability and create data-driven insights for greater future impact in the organization
Develop recommendations and best practice resources for deployment by business unit leaders
Ensure the dei program engages internal stakeholders and drives accountability across the organization
Collaborate with the communications department to manage communications efforts related to the organization`s dei strategy and programs, internally and externally
Remain current on emerging dei practices through external networks and organizations

High level of computer literacy – particularly microsoft suite; experience with teams, one note, and sharepoint a plus
Experience
10 or more years of work experience with progressive responsibility
Experience working on dei initiatives in a corporate, nonprofit, educational or community organization
Experience working on programs covering unconscious bias, courageous conversations, inclusive leadership, and cross‐cultural competencies and communications
Education
Bachelors` degree or equivalent work experience
