Founded in 1969, the national council for mental wellbeing (national council) is a membership organization that drives policy and social change on behalf of nearly 3,200 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults, and families they serveThe national council is a 501(c)(3) association that advocates for policies that ensure people who have mental health and substance use challenges have access to comprehensive, high-quality servicesWe also offer state-of-the-science education and practice improvement consulting and resources to ensure services are efficient and effective.
The national council’s mental health first aid (mhfa) department leads a ground-breaking program with over 2 million americans trained to date, that teach people how to recognize and respond to mental health substance use challengesDemand for this program comes from an ever-growing base of stakeholders across the country and aligns with the national council’s full portfolio of public education, technical assistance and policy activities intended to promote healthy minds and strong communities.

Position summary
We are looking for an assistant vice president who will help us develop and manage plans to grow brand strength, awareness and influence for the national council and its associated brands, including mental health first aidIn this role, you will build the market strategies for paid media, thought leadership, marketing campaigns, influencer marketing, social media and contentYou will understand data analytics to identify opportunities, increase responsiveness and measure brand strength and engagements, and you will create strategic marketing and communications plans to deliver results tied to the organizational strategy, goals and metricsWe are looking for someone with an inspiring, innovative, creative, data-driven approach to break down information silos and incorporate digital messaging into an integrated marketing strategy and lead a multi-disciplinary marketing communications team.
Responsibilities
Strategy & implementation
Create effective marketing strategy that leads the process from concept to execution, ensuring flawless delivery with maximum impact
Plan and execute effective marketing campaigns and implement relevant metrics to measure campaign effectiveness
Research and implement ways to identify and reach new consumers for the brand, growing not only consumption and brand loyalty, but also household penetration
Continually identify new advertising platforms and related technologies that can be utilized to improve the reach, scale and performance of digital campaigns
Develop, enhance and ensure functionality of digital channels and digital marketing efforts and content
Leadership
Lead an expert group of digital marketing specialists and agency partners spanning all aspects of inbound demand generation including web, seo, search, display, social and programmatic media, including audience segmentation and strategy (social media, video, newsletters and partnership teams) to drive audience engagement and growth and ensure effective coordination with other teams and projects
Manage day-to-day department work environment, including department/individual meetings, team building, coaching, discipline and associated performance evaluations
Collaborate with other departments to execute projects, assess the impact of projects to the organization and membership and request training support as needed
Work closely with the business development team/sales department to align sales and marketing strategies
Provide updates for executive leadership on an as-needed basis
Provide communications support for change management initiatives and environmental, social and governance (esg) programs, including diversity, equity and inclusion (dei)
Oversee intranet governance and conduct trainings as needed
Project management & analytics
Oversee and lead the development of the national council digital channels, as well as third party digital channels including, microsites, google analytics, purls, seo, sem, digital marketing advertising, social media, online brand reputation advertising/sites, and content marketing and storytelling strategy across channels
Monitor key data points like audience growth and brand awareness
Measure the impact and effectiveness of internal communications efforts to improve short-term and long-term strategies
Utilize performance results to influence planning, drive testing, increase conversion metrics and optimize funnel performance
Create and present internal communications analytics reports and presentations
Develop, implement, review and administer applicable policies and procedures for marketing department, including americans with disabilities act (ada) compliance on the website and microsites
Manage digital marketing budget to meet scope of projects and projected spending
Negotiate associated vendor contracts/agreements including partnerships/sponsorships to support planned and new efforts
Ensure all digital marketing channels/efforts meet established brand guidelines, including appearance, quality and editorial content; ensure adherence to department proofing process and compliance department review/required disclosure language
Required qualifications
15+ years of professional experience with expertise in digital marketing, including website development, email marketing, google analytics, seo, sem, social media, data-driven marketing, digital advertising, digital content creation, project management, marketing principles and activities, strategic positioning, digital communications, data and trends
Bachelor`s degree or higher preferred
Exceptional interpersonal, written communications and verbal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of internal/external members
Advanced skills in hootsuite, asana, slack, crm, html, google analytics, adwords, word, excel and powerpoint and knowledge of database marketing and research
Strong understanding of social media monitoring platforms, trends and influencer engagement
Detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the varied details of multiple projects, on time and within budget
Strong leader who has built, scaled and led high performing marketing teams
Strong project manager capable of overseeing two unique brands (national council and mental health first aid) and multiple audiences
