The role
The successful applicant will work as associate product owner for components delivery squadThey will be responsible for managing the backlog of all client’s projects for the assigned product across the two regions (emea and north america) to ensure frictionless and timely client deliveries.
The associate product owner will work closely with their local development squad in coordination with the global product manager & other stakeholders.
The associate product owner is responsible for understanding delivery roadmap prioritization & executing the road map in collaboration with the global product managerThe associate product owner works across job function and geography to deliver web tools and components developed by morningstar core squads.
Associate product owner help to optimize and standardize delivery processes for emea and north america.
Responsibilities
+ act as an associate product owner of an agile scrum team
+ collaborate as a unified cross-functional team inspired by a common vision and evangelize this vision across teams to create excitement and shared success with the broader organization.
+ maintain the delivery squad backlog to be able to prioritize effectively for upcoming sprintsResponsible for tickets prioritization within each
Sprint.
+ create & review requirement jira tickets to better understand sow / client / business requirements and have a project-wide view
+ work with the global product manager to review & understand prioritization for future 1-2 sprints and work with development squad & scrum
Master to ensure tickets are estimated
+ responsible for negotiating with global product manager & stakeholder based on prioritization, value & team’s capacity
+ use data for development and testing of hypotheses, managing with kpis and measurements of delivery success (e.g., customer satisfaction,
Quality, time to market, etc.), and guiding next steps.
+ been point of contact for global product manager, devs, scrum master, implementation consultants, tech consultants and other internal
Stakeholders (core squads, back-end squads, etc.)
+ ensure clients’ solutions are delivered in accordance with product strategy and in a sustainable way
+ work with global partners to execute commitments and communicate status to stakeholders
+ support the team to optimize discovery (requirement gathering) and implementation cycle time
+ support the global product manager and implementation consultants during the integration phase for the successful launching
Of client’s solutions and enhancement
+ work closely with the development team to answer questions, convey product knowledge and deliver direction during development
+ understand how users interact with the components, with the help of global product manager, implementation team and tech
Consultants
+ step in and help with testing, as neededEveryone is responsible for quality
+ gradually take additional responsibility of co-owning the ‘product roadmap management’ and ‘release management’
+ occasionally participate to cross-product quarterly planning/road map showcases
Requirements
+ a bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance or related field is requiredA master’s degree in finance or business administration is a plus.
+ minimum 2-4 years of business analyst or product owner/management experience.
+ experience within the financial services environment is required.
+ prior experience of closely working with development team is required
+ ability to drive delivery projects independently and navigating around ambiguous requirements to structure it in a way that is well understood
By engineering team
+ ability to communicate and work with cross-functional team (dev,qa, scrum master etc)
+ ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
+ excellent judgment; analytical, problem solving, planning, decision-making and execution skills; in addition to exemplary communication
Abilities overall
+ ability to motivate and grow a collaborative, cross-functional team with a track record for quality, on-time deliveries
+ ability to work in a team setup that spans across geographies and influences the work of othersWillingness to connect with global colleagues
At off-hours
+ knowledge & working experience of software development life cycle is requiredWorking experience with agile development (scrum
Framework or any other) is preferred.
