Luna is looking for a research engineer to keep us pushing the edge of applied computer vision and machine learning techniquesWe use a combination of traditional computer vision and various flavors of neural nets for object detection, feature tracking, 3d reconstruction and moreOur augmented reality application straddles techniques relevant to differential geometry, biometrics, image restoration, mobile/embedded cv, and human pose and motion, among othersOur recommendations application blends large data, sparse data, and subjective data to engage customers and learn from them.

What you`ll do:

Work with your peers to develop and evaluate algorithms that improve or expand our ar virtual try-on platform and recommendation systems
Develop a medical grade measurement tools based on a novel head scan
Curate and refine appropriate datasets and metrics
Read and discuss relevant papers with the research team, and peer review
Work with platform to harden research results for production

About you:

5+ years of experience in research development with python and/or c++
Expertise in computer vision field with 3+ years of hands-on experience involving real-world data
Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, especially relating to object detection and landmark localization in images
Solid understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, and numerical optimization methods

Solid understanding of computer vision systems; experience with opencv and build systems
Skilled with data analysis stacks e.gPython/pandas/numpy/scipy/matplotlib, r or similar
Experience with pytorch/tensorflow/jax is a huge plus
Proven problem solving and analytical skills
Experience with linux, aws, shell scripting, and configuration management systems
Experience with opengl/glsl is a plus
Interests in augmented reality and rendering systems
Strong technical communicatorPlots and graphs should be your tool of choice, and you`re happiest explaining complicated concepts to non-technical audience
Ph.dOr master`s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, math, engineering, or related field(luna recognizes that knowledge and skills equivalent to those earned in a degree program can also be achieved via nontraditional paths and welcomes applicants with nontraditional training.)
