Idc government insights (gi) is seeking a research manager, government trust and resiliency strategy to lead growing the advisory offerings and research services to state and federal clients and the vendors that serve themThe program advises global and us government organizations to identify and prioritize technology opportunities and to help save time, reduce cost and mitigate risk in technology procurement and implementations, while also helping technology vendors develop and market products and services that meet the needs of government buyersResearch coverage includes security services, it professional and managed services with a focus on systems integration, security and network services and including the edge, 5g, and the internet of things.

Responsibilities
Function as a trusted advisor for federal/ national civilian and defense agencies as well as state and regional agencies and government technology suppliers
Grow the government trust and resiliency program through thought leadership and business development
Plan and publish research in a timely manner based on quantitative and qualitative inputExpand research into new, high interest areas such as cybersecurity services, edge computing and iot, and it professional and managed services
Deliver and lead custom research projects for both vendor and government organizations
Communicate and amplify key research results, e.g., authoring white papers, appearing in videos, and delivering presentations
Support idc`s sales, consulting, and marketing teams by working on proposals and developing market offerings, marketing materials and participating in media interviews
Support client inquiry related to research reports and topics pertinent to research
Coordinate and collaborate with idc regions and regional gi team members
Qualifications
A bachelor`s degree is required; a relevant higher level degree is highly desired.
5+ years experience in federal government, the technology industry or related area that has built knowledge expertise in it policies, governance, procurement, and regulations .
Ability to present new ideas and trends to engage both senior level officials, executive management, and partners in academia, non-profits, and other government agencies.
Outstanding writing and communication skills with ability to produce insightful reports and recommendations based on desk research, briefings, survey or forecast data.
An analytical mind with a strong desire to uncover trends and patterns through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research.
Highly proficient using microsoft excel (including pivot tables) to perform modeling and forecastingProficiency in microsoft suite of products is a must.
Excellent time management and planning skills; self-starter who can work to tight schedules, and balance changing priorities
Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and decisive with intellectual honesty and a positive attitude.
Travel approximately 20% within north america and minimal outside the u.s.
The role can be based in alexandria, va or an approved us remote-work location.
