Main Duties and responsibilities:
Monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents.
Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas.
Educate, observe and enforce all facility and pool rules in a friendly and helpful manner.
Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations.
Thorough Knowledge on functioning of pool equipment and maintenance.
Inspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties.
Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency.
Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment (rescue tubes, backboard, signs and other equipment).
Must know swimming.
Thorough knowledge on lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measures.
Must have knowledge on rules and regulations governing conduct at the pool.
Assist in the operation of all spa and fitness department departments as required:
Fitness
Spa
Spa Reception
Merchandise
Check and clean swimming pool area when required.
Maintain swimming pool plant room.
Determines chlorine content and pH value of water, using water testing kit, and record readings.
Maintain linen inventory to and from laundry on a scheduled basis.
Direct members/guests to the swimming pool and assist them in every way possible.
Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.
Ability to perform rescue actions, administer first aid and CPR.
Assist members/guests with use of sauna, steam whirlpool etc.
Prepare deck chairs for guests and clean thoroughly at the end of each day according to specified guidelines.
Maintain set up of deck chairs in a tidy manner.
Ensure stocking of all swimming pool linen and amenities.
Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the swimming pool facility.
To maintain accurate records as required by provincial regulations.
To attend weekly/monthly departmental communications meeting.
To attend weekly/monthly reception departmental communication meetings.
Completes required paperwork.
Follow and ensure that all employees follow all safety procedures and practices.
Adherence to Reception department Emergency Procedures/Safety Manual.
Ensure all departments adhere to all safety practices of the hotel.
To regularly monitor the Hyatt Guest Satisfaction survey report and to ensure the minimum benchmark scores are achieved and implement action plans as directed to achieve constant improvement year on year.
To ensure the minimum benchmark scores of the Consumer Audit are achieved, and implement action plans as directed to constantly improve the results Year on Year.
To keep abreast of the Hotel Guest feedback, complaints, views, etc. posted on websites, print or electronic media or any other available communication channels
Supports the implementation of The People Brand, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Value.
Align all day-to-day functioning of the department / division consistent with Hyatt’s Global Privacy Policy.
To ensure all associates are trained on all relevant School of Hospitality tasks.
Attends and contributes to all training sessions and meetings as required.
Assists in the feedback on the results of the Employee Engagement Survey and ensure that the relevant changes are implemented.
Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
Responds to changes in the department as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team and Hyatt International.
Reads the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
Be able to multi-task and carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
To follow and ensure that employees follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security.
To be well versed with the Hotel safety and security procedures and be vigilant about observing and reporting anything unusual.
