Position purpose:

The workday senior software engineer will be responsible for absence module configuration, troubleshooting, and providing absence solutionsThe engineer will accurately and quickly assess and complete jira user stories, perform unit testing, and work on other projects as required.
The engineer will be able to respond quickly to complex situations that arise while also making recommendations for improvements along the way.
The senior engineer will operate as a cross functional liaison between internal teams for system enhancements and break fixes, documenting and communicating all changes with the relevant teams before pushing changes to production.

50% delivery and execution – develops, tests, deploys, and maintains software, with a clear understanding of the value the software is to provide; takes a broad view when approaching issues; using a global lens; consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances; develops test suites (functional, destructive, etc) to enable success, rapid deployment of code to production; takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm; consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances

20% supports and enables – fields questions from product and engineering teams; helps grow junior engineers by providing guidance on modern software development frameworks, and leading technical discussions; notes gaps on the team and provides suggestions for changes to make the team more productive

For colorado, connecticut, nevada and new york city residents: the pay range for this position is between $60,000 and $210,000Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experienceThe home depot offers additional competitive financial and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.

Preferred qualifications:

Must have solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
Proven ability to build cross functional relationships and partner with various stakeholders to deliver solutions that are aligned to strategy, support business objectives and meet legal and policy requirements
Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills,
Advanced knowledge and experience with excel, v-lookup,
Must be familiar and have processed eibs in the absence.
Experience with other workday modules a plus
5+ years of workday experience required
Must be able to operate as cross functional liaison/sme between internal teams for system enhancements as well as for workday bi-annual release
Must have the following absence background

Solid hands-on absence configuration background and experience
New leave type config

Configuration of eligibility and validations
Configuration of supporting data
Configuration of additional data

Solid understanding of security around leave type segment
Fmla and statutory leave config.
Time off plans and their interplay with loa
Solid eib`s experience time off and loa
Solid business process configuration and redesign experience required
Custom objects creation
Custom reports + alert config
Responsible for prod deployments, as well as resolving production issues.
Will be responsible for configuration, testing, deploying workday enhancements, break fixes.
Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency,
The engineer needs to be able to respond quickly to complex situations that arise while also making recommendations for improvements along the way
