Essential job duties and responsibilities
Set strategy, scope and priorities for the pmo at goodleap focused on change and program leadershipLead the team to create scalable methods, tools, best practices, and relevant kpis for program managementDefine and build a culture of excellence in execution across cross-functional teams.
Recruit and lead a small, world-class team of program managers working across multiple product/ business lines and with internal and external vendorsDevelop, mentor, and performance manage where necessary to ensure world- class program leadershipTailor the assignments and professional development of each program manager to maximize success across every pmo project.
Develop, implement and monitor appropriate product development metrics to communicate project and portfolio status, and to identify areas for process improvementRefine and lead weekly operating mechanisms.
Build a culture of competence and confidence by coaching team members to ensure that every project/ program has smart objectives/ kpis in place and delivers to themEvery project delivers on its business objectives on-time, on- budget, and with no stakeholder left behind or surprised.

Define and drive multiple workstreams simultaneously with ease; deliver cross-functional projects with both internal, external, and blended project teamsDemonstrate proficiency with project management practices, tools, and methodology to manage project scope, deliverables, schedule, risks & resources; therefore, spend more time “doing” and less time “figuring out how to do” most project management tasks.
Project teams trusts the program manager implicitlyEvery team knows its program manager knows what’s going on, what’s happening (or not happening) next, and that the right people are in the loop at the right time to make the right business decisions.
Team members proactively volunteer to participate in the establishment of innovative solutions, tools, business process, and best practices to utilize goodleap’s resources effectively to deliver value.
Develop and drive adoption of common language and standards for meeting management, project planning, stakeholder analysis & communication plans, issue/ risk management, change leadership in diverse areas of change implementation and project delivery across the business portfolio.
Develop reporting and dependency-management mechanisms that are: scalable, relevant and minimally invasive to teams doing the work.
Oversee and prepare organizational budget including resources and costs, collaborating with finance and other cross-functional departments.
Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for streamlining team, business processes, best practices and tools to deliver better, faster iterations of business value.
Required skills, knowledge and abilities
5-10+ years in software development and enterprise-wide program management in financial services, mortgage lending or equivalent
Experience in building and scaling a pmo team focused on technology development and delivery in a fast-growing technology organization.
Recruitment and mentoringYou have an uncanny ability to identify outstanding program managers and to coach them to bring out the best in their program teams.
Demonstrated ability to define and manage large, cross-functional, complex projects from planning to launch in a remote, multi-time zone work environment.
Experience with project management best practices, agile development methodologies, portfolio wide analytics, decision making, budget management, and prioritization.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, outstanding conflict management skills; strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skillsDemonstrated communication style & presence to work effectively directly with executive teams.
Excellent analytical skills; proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound business judgment.
Experience in business process engineering, implementation, and/or change leadership highly desirable.
