Main purpose of job:
To manage all administrative aspects of the Chevening Scholarship programme delivered by the British High Commission in New Delhi.
Chevening is the UK Government’s flagship award scheme, offered globally by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. India runs the largest Chevening programme in the world designed to attract the brightest and the best for its high-profile programmes (one year Masters’ and short thematic programmes for mid-career professionals), focused on professionals in the government, public & private sector, media and civil society.

The successful candidate will manage the administration of the Chevening scholarship award. The candidate will need to use their initiative and creativity to meet their goals.
The successful candidate will play a critical role, working with colleagues in the High Commission and the Deputy High Commissions across India, as well as external stakeholders. Therefore, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The candidate will be responsible for the administration, budget and logistics, helping deliver the largest programme in the world. The successful candidate will need to be methodical with great organisational skills, creative, show initiative and with excellent attention to detail. A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work under pressure will be welcome. At times, they may also be involved in the wider work of the Political team.
Strong IT skills are vital for the candidate to perform their role effectively as well as supporting other members of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The job holder’s main duties will involve:
Programme Administration (60%)
Managing the Chevening application process, supporting the process of shortlisting, working on dashboard and huddle, arranging interviews and organising pre-departure events.
Act as main point of contact for Chevening candidate and deal with all queries related to final award letter ensuring all scholars receive final award letters in time.
Liaising with Chevening Secretariat in London to coordinate the application and selection process (not siting in interview panels).
Adhering to deadlines and requests set by the Chevening Secretariat, such as submitting annual programme, marketing and alumni plans, and country briefings for the Reading Committee.
Managing queries from potential candidates on visa etc.
Managing all logistics involved from candidates selection till departure queries.
Making purchase orders and maintaining budgets.
Updating and maintaining the database of Chevening alumni.
To keep record of alumni existing data of more than 1500 Chevening scholars across Pakistan
Programme Outreach and Marketing (20%)
Generating written and visual content for social media, press and radio.
Identifying other ways to promote Chevening, such as attending university fairs and other outreach events.
Keeping records of the Chevening marketing budget, keeping records of promotional material, contacting suppliers for quotations and following up that new orders are produced according to the Chevening branding guidelines.
Internal communications for promoting Chevening within the High Commission.
To support Chevening team and ensure effective Chevening brand promotion throughout the year by working on Chevening marketing strategy.
Alumni Engagement (10%)
Working with colleagues to implement pre-departure events, welcome back events, thematic events and working closely with the larger network in India.
Working with teams within the High Commission for delivery of events.
Preparing case studies of all the alumni of all programmes and keeping the case study bank up-to-date.
Support in preparing bids.
Finance/Budgets (10%)
Ensuring all financial issues are dealt effectively and ensuring costs are charged to the correct budget.
Involved in Chevening budget, maintaining it and updating the team as and when required.
Working with finance team as and when required.
The job holder may also be expected to take on other tasks to support the Team, as and when required. There is lot scope for growth and development.

For BHC candidates, the Local BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, Basic Salary will be INR 67, 767 per month together with a 12% provident fund and 6% Special Allowance

No relocation or any other related costs or assistance will be provided.
Please note – BHC does not deduct tax at source and employees are required to ensure that any requirements of local income-tax law are complied with in full. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg. some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
