The role

Complex networks is seeking a freelance copy editor to join the editorial teamThe copy editor will edit multiple stories per day, serving as the final editorial check before copy goes into complex`s content management system for publicationThe ideal candidate is someone who has a background in copy editing with a high level of attention to detail.

You will

Edit two to three pieces a day to hit necessary deadlines for stories
Pay close attention to grammar, syntax, and clarity, making sure copy is clean
Utilize and adhere to complex`s style guide for consistency
Fact-check to ensure accuracy of stories
Communicate with editorial team members if questions arise while copy editing story

You have

4+ years of copy editing experience at a website, newspaper, or magazine
An exemplary eye for detail
A deep understanding of the complex brand and subjects covered
The ability to work through copy with consistency and in a timely manner
Strong communication skills
