Report to lead worker and systems opa’s when there is a programming error impacting the processing of a return, provide examples
Communicate with taxpayers, tax practitioners, and attorneys by phone, email, mail, or revenue online to request missing information and documentation on specific issues to complete the processing of original and amended returns.
Review and approve refunds for all programs administered by the corporation/estate sectionEvaluate refunds generated from return processing and confirm adjustments to tax and payments are accurate.
Verify payments claimed and reported on the account are accurately applied to the correct period.
Serve as a backup to other administrative specialists and the office specialist in the corporation/estate section.
Responsible for primary phone coverage for the corporation income and excise tax direct phone lineExplain tax laws, rules, and procedures.

Working with constant statutory deadlines.
Shifting quickly from one job to another during each day.
These duties are performed involving constant use of video/computer terminals, personal computers, and electronic calculators at workstations using repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Must deal with angry or hostile taxpayers by telephone, letter, and in person.
These duties are typically done sitting at a workstation in an open office environment subject to frequent disruptions.
This position operates in a hybrid model, performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and remotely.

Minimum qualifications
Three years of clerical/secretarial experience that included: two years at a full performance level performing typing, word processing, or other generation of documents and lead work responsibility or coordination of office proceduresCourses or training in office occupations or office technology may be substituted for up to one year of the clerical/secretarial experienceThe ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes:
