About the role we are looking for a seasoned attorney to be the first dedicated lawyer to lead and support confluent’s public sector business unitIn this role, you will be focused on government contracting compliance as well as providing support for all aspects of government contracting, including direct and indirect sales activitiesYou will proactively assess legal risks and advise on government contracting, and help build a compliance program that will meet the needs of the business and will scale as the company grows.
What you will do:
Help design and manage confluent’s government contracting and compliance program
Support all government activities, including drafting and reviewing agreements, with a focus on the federal acquisition regulation (far), defense federal acquisition regulation supplement (dfars), and us agency procurement laws and regulations
Be responsible for articulating the government procurement lifecycle to business stakeholders, review rfps, write and draft letters to government entities;
Partner with a sales organization, training and interacting with sales, third party partners and customers
Solve issues related to transacting with the government
Be an independent worker and thought leader that embodies confluent’s #1 value: customer love
What you will bring:
Expertise with fedramp, cjis, ndaa and irs 1075
Expertise with statewide procurement vehicles such as naspo, texas dir, new york ogs
Great attention to detail
Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar
J.dFrom a top-tier law school
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a government contracting attorney, with significant government compliance responsibilities, preferably as in-house counsel for high-growth global technology companies
Managerial experience
Experience growing and building a team
Prior security clearance and ability to seek new clearance preferred
Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to assess and communicate risks to business partners in a clear and actionable way
Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects/meet deadlines within budget and with consistently high-quality work product
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts clearly to non-lawyers
High level of integrity, team orientation, and treating others with respect
Growth mindset, positive attitude, resilient, and thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
