Job title: military spouse outreach representative
Department: military family programs & pathways
Reports to: director of military family programs & pathways
Flsa: exempt
Hours: monday through thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (extended hours when requested)
Location: remote
Job summary the military spouse outreach representative is responsible for searching out and building relationships with all military-affiliated spouses, retired military spouses and veteran spouses through focused and high-touch communication, either in person or virtually, to expand educational opportunities available to this groupEssential job tasks additional duties may be assigned.
Researches, selects, plans, and attends appropriate military spouse centered events and conferences.
Builds and maintains relationships with educational staff at military installations including the mwr office, ombudsman’s office, or the equivalent.
Develops high level contacts within the top military organizations and supports groups, including but not limited to association of the united states army (ausa), air force association (afa), american gold star mothers (agsm), military spouse chamber of commerce (mscc) and military spouse employment partnership (msep).
Occasional travel (75 days per year) to include some weekends and holidays.
Contacts learning partners to provide information and support, with visits to learning partners as time allows.
Obtains referrals from students and prospects to augment paid advertising and enhance performance results; prudent use of csu funds while engaged in csu sanctioned events and activities.
Seeks out prospective students in new markets and provides leads generated from conferences to appropriate team for follow-up.
Plans calendar and share all dates with appropriate parties, and coordinates personnel support from other departments including military outreach, veteran initiatives and corporate relations, if necessary for larger events.
Executes all travel arrangements necessary, and maintains and reconciles credit card expense receipts, and reports on a monthly basis.
Completes exhibition materials for visits or events and gather materials needed to be shipped.
Increases percentage of enrollments and starts from leads through training, experience, and follow-up with prospects through correspondence, visits, and routine phone conversations by providing assistance and completion of the application process.
Onsite visits to the university campus required as directed by leadership.
Leverages social media accounts to expand the csu brand and deepen relationships.
Provides advisement assistance to csu students while adhering to csu policies and standards.
Promotes, maintains, and enhances workplace culture within military outreach department and the university.

Military education benefits – possess knowledge of military education benefits, veteran education benefits, and a clear understanding of rules and regulations for facility access and appropriate areas for military spouse outreach representatives to visit military spouses on or off military installations is required for this position.
English language – knowledge of the structure and content of the english language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Computer – knowledge of basic computer processes including word processing, web browsing and applications, microsoft office including basic microsoft excel, and applicable smartphone applications.
Customer and personal service – knowledge of customer needs assessment, meeting quality student standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Leadership – must understand and have knowledge on effective team building.

Education & experience
Bachelor`s degree required; one to two years related experience and/or training is preferred.
Must possess knowledge of military education benefits, veteran education benefits and a clear understanding of rules and regulations for base access and appropriate areas for military spouse outreach representatives to visit on military installations.
Ability to gain access to military installations is necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to be bonded and insured under the company’s insurance carrier’s requirements.
Equipment used
Office equipment including computers, telephones/smartphones, and printers.
Software and smartphone applications used include microsoft word, excel, outlook, blackboard, internal database software, and cloud-based customer relationship management programs.
Reliable and secure internet is required for this position.
