About the role

This role is a rare chance to lead and build the accounting team for one of the fastest growing startups in the healthcare industryAs the controller, you will closely monitor the company`s financial health and be responsible for building a team dedicated to coordinating, administering and controlling financial operations in the context of overall charlie health goalsYou will lead in directing and participating in all aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of quarterly and annual financial forecastsThe controller will review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports as well as oversee the development of financial accounting controls, policies and procedures, and systems required to maintain reporting requirementsReporting directly to the vp of corporate strategy, the controller will be given an exceptional level of autonomy and responsibility, but it is expected that this individual will `think like an owner` and commit themselves to charlie health`s success.

Responsibilities

Lead team that tracks and analyzes accounting kpis and aligns kpis with overall company goals
Establish, maintain and enforce the company`s financial policies and procedures by providing operational and administrative direction to the accounting, budgeting and tax functions
Evaluate current controls, processes and systems, and implement improved workflows to streamline operations and enhance controls necessary for mitigating risk, enhancing the accuracy of the company`s reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with us gaap
Manage the monthly close process on an end-to-end basis ensuring the quality and timeliness of close
Prepare and analyze month-end, quarter-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle g/l analysis
Manage all accounting functions including, but not limited to: general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing
Oversee and coordinate the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting process
Manage relationship with external auditors, accountants, and tax consultants
Create and monitor key performance indicators and coach junior employees towards their personal and team objectives
Facilitate strategic conversations across teams to drive high-priority initiatives forward

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated strong knowledge in account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, etc.
Demonstrated technical and comprehensive knowledge of all finance, financial planning, accounting, and tax areas of a business including an excellent understanding of gaap
Work authorized in the united states and native-equivalent proficiency in english
Passion for healthcare services
Microsoft office proficiency
Successful track record hiring, building, and managing a team at a rapidly scaling company
Experience advising, presenting to, and persuading senior corporate personnel
Resourceful with a natural ability to problem solve
Proactive self-started and natural multitasker
Meticulous attention to detail
