Full job description
The controller supports the vice president of accounting in the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company`s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principlesThe controller will also be responsible for consolidations and the integration of acquired companies` financial operations.

What this position does to contribute to the company’s success
Overall leadership of most accounting and finance functions, including but not limited to general accounting, accounts payable, capital projects, fixed assets, and general ledger
Manages the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in compliance with u.sGaap, meeting internal and external deadlines.
Performs financial statement analysis and reviewResearches and resolves issues which are identified during review.
Establishes and/or maintains internal controls and assists in the documentation and evaluation of financial and business processes in support of the company’s sox compliance requirements.
Drives continuous improvement of processes, controls and documentation.
Provides quality coaching, leadership, and direction to a high performing teamCultivates, pursues, and promotes a culture of continued excellence through individual and team growth.
Maintains chart of accounts and master data structure within our erp systemsTakes on other duties needed to help drive our purpose, fulfill our brand principles, and abide by our organization’s values.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in accounting, finance or equivalent field required
15 years or more experience in progressive roles, leading and building an accounting organization and managing multiple teams required
5 years or more experience in broad-based operational experience covering all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and internal and external audits required
3 years or more experience as a controller in a public company required
Certified public accountant (cpa) or equivalent in experience required
Experience with integrated systems including: purchasing, payables management, and billing/accounts receivable required
Technical and comprehensive knowledge of the financial accounting areas of a business required
Thorough knowledge of sec reporting requirements required
Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
Oracle experience preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving capabilities required
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap) and internal controls, specifically asc 606, and statutory requirements required
Strong leadership skills, consensus building capability, influencing skills and credibility with other functional areas; demonstrated ability to lead change in a complex organization required
Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Superb attention to detail and strong planning and organization skills with concern for quality and deadlines required
Ability to work extra hours as needed to support the financial close required
