Backstop solutions group is currently seeking an accounting clerk to join our rapidly growing teamThe accounting clerk will be instrumental in shaping our accounting service intellx transactions – a technology-enabled transactions management solution for our institutional investment clientsYou’ll complement our technology by reviewing results related to our clients’ alternative investment holdings in real time to ensure accurate output in backstop’s research and portfolio management platformYou’ll also work closely with our product and service teams to continuously advance our capabilities and service offeringsFinally, you’ll interact directly with new and existing backstop clients to deliver ongoing valueThis role is ideal for a team-player with high attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the curiosity to learn the nuances of portfolio management and fund accounting facilitated by industry specific software.

What you’ll do / core responsibilities

Real-time monitoring of clients’ investment holdings activityTypical activity includes periodic performance and asset values, subscription and redemption transactions, capital calls and distributions, and fee details
Oversee throughput into the backstop platform; continuously train our technology systems for optimal output
Provide oversight of output results, transform where necessary, and ensure proper delivery into the backstop platform
Consult with clients and internal teams to define requirements, relay best practices, and creatively solve problems
Assist in development, continuous improvement, and documentation of processes to drive quality and efficiency

Required experience:

Bs/ba or equivalent work experience
Working knowledge of alternative investment industry concepts and practices.

Capital activity / valuations / fees
Liquidity
Performance reporting

Ability to multi-task and handle multiple clients in real time
Attention to detail with propensity for creative problem solving
Intermediate to advanced usage of ms office suite, particularly excel
Overall understanding of data structure, migration, and integration concepts
Ability to work under strict timelines to meet client expectations

Expected compensation for fully qualified candidates: $42,000-55,000 base salary
