Position description
We are looking for a head of information technology to help define the path forward for it at andela as we continue growing at incredible rates.
In this role, you will work to prioritize the various responsibilities within the it department and ensure that the team is covering all necessary elements to support the businessThis is an opportunity to guide, develop and support the it department in a leadership roleBy partnering with collaborators from the product, client, talent, legal, data finance and engineering teams you will be responsible for crafting and delivering against a roadmap that meets business goals and objectives while ensuring outstanding operations, processes and systems are in place.

General responsibilities

Define and manage the full scope and responsibilities of the it organization with a focus on end-user satisfaction and operational excellence
Build the it roadmap to have an ongoing, significant impact towards meeting strategic business goals and driving the business forward
Run daily it operations, generate performance reports, and continuously increase user satisfaction
Forecast and manage annual budget for andela wide systems and tools, as well as it departmental operations
Present plans and strategies to senior leadership in support of business objectives while also introducing innovative ideas and solution technologies
Identify process improvements and build a plan to implement with direct impact to the business
Review requests for new systems and technologies, conduct security compliance for vendors and partners, and determine capacity and resource requirements
Monitor and maintain saas products used across andela
Lead and develop a growing it team as the department establishes itself as an inspiring leader as well as service provider to the company
Work closely with andela legal and compliance teams as needed to ensure compliance with sarbanes-oxley (sox), gxp and data privacy (gdpr) regulations, and system lifecycle and change management requirements
Assist with the intake, triage, and prioritization of system and tool support issues
Always be improving our processes, practices, and it culture so that we are on top of our game; employing repeatable frameworks where possible

Qualifications:

6+ years managing end to end it operations and teams
Technical degree preferred, or equivalent experience working in technology operations at scale
Experience managing an it department of a fully remote company that utilize 100% saas and cloud solutions
Consensus-builder; develops relationships across the company with ease
Ability to translate broad business strategies and functional priorities into effective operational goals and objectives; able to actively participate in strategic planning for the function
Detail oriented with a high bar for quality when it comes to delivering projects and initiatives, implementing new tools and systems, negotiating and partnering with vendors, and reporting progress to partners
Results oriented leader with a proven track record of timely project delivery for large, cross-functional, and sophisticated projects with global partners
Strong analytical skills and fluency with data, with the ability to use a variety of tools to gather and synthesize information (experience with google analytics, bigquery, looker a major plus) which can be used to develop business cases/value propositions
Solid understanding of key concepts related to software development life cycle, information security, operational excellence, digital transformation, network management
Excellent written and verbal communication with a tendency to over-document and over-communicate to a variety of audiences
