Ph.dIn computer science, mathematics, statistics, related field, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in applied science / machine learning and software development at large scale
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience building predictive, machine learning and optimization models
Expert knowledge and practical experience in several of the following areas: machine learning, statistics, deep learning, natural language processing, informational retrieval
Proven track record of leading and mentoring applied scientists
Computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as c, c++, java, or python

Key job responsibilities
You will create personalization, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning models, recommender systemsYou will invent machine learning models that leverage natural language utterances, multi modal, telemetry signalsYou will influence the definition of customer satisfaction, dissatisfaction metricsYou will build language model to predict customer preference, invent innovative ambient experience to delight alexa customers, with opportunities to publish your workYou will develop novel solutions using large-scale real-world datasets and partner closely with a dedicated engineering and product team to build, evaluate, and deliver your solutions.
Experience in building recommender systems by leveraging behavioral, linguistic, telemetry and multi modal.

Ability to take a complex problem from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with distributed machine learning systems with millions of data points
5+ years of hands-on experience in predictive modeling and analysis
Significant peer reviewed scientific contributions in premier journals and conferences
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
