Full job description
To ensure that the hotel’s computer system both hardware and software is fully accounted for, properly maintained and reliable.
Implement and support it solutions that achieve the maximum benefit for with the lowest total cost.
To draw procedures to ensure that any problems encountered in software and hardware are addressed immediately.
Implement processes and procedures that will result in lower accounting, purchasing (among others) transaction costs.
To ensure the physical and logical security of it system.
To define and keep updated written incident management policies and procedures where action to be taken, persons to be contacted in case of incident are clearly mentioned.
To attend to any problems encountered in software and hardware by all departments in the most diligent manner and keep track of such incidents and the way they have been solved.
To perform routine system setups as may be required by software or programs such as regular updates of anti-virus programs.
To strictly perform daily/ monthly backup procedures, ensure the successful completion of the process and the safety of all backup tapes.
Keep an off-site backup at the bank and ensure that they are updated.
Participates in the management team acting as a strategic business partner with all organizational plans, concerns and decisions;
To assist any departments of the hotel in formulating their it material requirements and provide adequate solutions to their needs.
To provide regular training on it security and ensure that all pms access passwords are regularly updated, automatic standby mode on servers and pms activated and it procedures strictly followed by all employees
Identifies and selects external service-providers.
Contributes to the satisfaction of individual guests by ensuring the technical team has the skills need to resolve simple and recurrent problems.
Intervenes if there are any problems before or during the eventIs reactive and proposes solutions.
Plays a managerial role for any external staff are brought in for events.
Ensures that all equipment available is duly respected and meets all safety norms and conformity regulations.
Network troubleshooting, configuration and security risk analysis.
Key operational responsibilities
Financial
Implement processes and procedures that will result in lower accounting, payroll, and purchasing (among others) transaction costs.
Identify optimal, cost effective use of the resources.
Operational
To ensure all operational related application are running all time with any failure.
To ensure all servers and applications are running with 100% uptime report.
Coordinate operations with department coordinators, supervisors and other departmental managers to ensure operational readiness, efficiency in resource utilization and the prompt delivery of services.
Business plan /analysis
To develop sound relationships with it and maintenance/ service providers.
Organize ongoing dialogues and processes with business leaders, business customer and member customer representatives to ensure that operational, technical and architectural plans are supported and deployed, and that they are aligned with strategic and business plan.
Team management
To maintain a good relationship within department and with all departments.
To work closely with any departments of the hotel.
General duty
Assist employees in fulfilling the virtuous cycle by implementing and supporting appropriate solutions
Respects the hotel`s commitments to the `environment charter` (energy saving, recycling and sorting waste etc).
To monitor hotel and it server room’s safety regulations (fire hazards etc).
