Description
We’re looking for a director, market development to join our newly launched financial and commercialization strategy teamThis newly formed field team is focused on expanding snowflake’s gtm strategy and capabilities to be the leading platform to efficiently and timely execute against a mature or emerging company’s vision of innovating on their data-driven revenue and business models.
This group brings together the unique distribution capabilities of the snowflake platform with the industry leading usage-based revenue model for the delivery of data-enabled solutions for our customers.
Key priorities
The team’s mandate is to raise the awareness of snowflake as the leading platform to distribute data-driven products and services, turning digital transformations into reality.
Deeply skilled to carry the c-level strategic discussion, this role is focused on helping customers leverage the technical and business capabilities of snowflake to turn their data strategy/vision into actions and outcomes.
What do you get to do in this role
Customer engagement
Engage executives to define and manage cloud-aligned transformations through sales/advisory-type engagements looking to innovate on the customers business/revenue model aspirations to build, expand and/or accelerate their data-driven products
Participate in and/or lead discovery/strategy sessions with customer leadership and their teams to understand key business objectives, challenges of transforming their existing product delivery, and desired business outcomes
In conjunction with the snowflake se, sales and professional services team, document and present insights and recommended snowflake-enabled solutions to meet customer business objectives
Expertly communicate and advise in 1:1 and 1: many environments
Sales strategy
Work closely with snowflake sales leadership and teams(s) to help define account plans and sales strategy for key accounts looking to build or expand date-enabled product revenue on snowflakeparticipate in pre-sale and post-sale lifecycle business outcome and value realization
Partner with sales leadership to ensure optimized economics for snowflake, while meeting the customer key business outcomes.
Economic value-add advisory
Align the snowflake usage-based business model with a customer-centric economic model
Provide creativity in structuring optimized economic outcomes (for the customer), that takes advantage of the full power of the snowflake platform – push the envelope – promote the usage model and how snowflake enables the execution of this model
Collaborate with snowflake internal finance team to operationalize deal economics, billing, of and any other nonstandard terms, as required.
Coordinate operational nuances with the internal sales operation’s team to align to current processesRecommend new processes to be considered for current and future transactions
Thought leadership
Identify, lead and contribute to the creation of new ip (best practices, white papers, blogs, workshops, services etc.
)
Focused on differentiating snowflake as the leading end-user platform for a customer to successfully build their “data eco-system” upon
Build a framework to scale the gtm approach across the region
Constantly innovate on current methods and frameworks to engage customers, expand footprint, and stay at the front of the data industry
Collaborate with and enable the snowflake teams on a business consulting approach to sales
Third party diligence
Create a feedback loop for snowflake of third-party providers, as surfaced by customers, that could augment the snowflake capabilities of delivering customer revenue aspirations
Qualifications to be considered for this role
To be successful in this role you should have 15+ years of experience in senior customer facing strategic and financial roles, including:
Strategic consulting/advisory experience in the technology space
Senior financial experience and experience building financial solutions in the technology space.
Financial field sales support in a matrixed and complex sales environment with a focus on aligning to company growth plans
Strategic consultative mindset, understand business and people change, can engage with depth at c-level
Knowledge of the fast-growing cloud industryExperience architecting financial wrappers around cloud-based technology solutionsAn understanding of the analytics, business intelligence, data science and broad cloud-data market are a plus.
Ability to draw clear linkage to business outcomes, particularly enhancing revenue for our customers products delivered on snowflake
Knowledge and demonstrated skills in sales techniques, customer interaction, customer relationships
Strong financial acumen to ensure customer centric economic outcomes that align to snowflake’s over-arching financial objectives
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in colorado:
The estimated pay range for this role, if based in colorado, is $183,100 – $260,000.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in snowflake’s bonus and equity.
