Summary:

Duties
Basic Function of the Position: This position is located in the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) office, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi. The Safety & Health Officer shall be directly responsible to the OBO (Overseas Building Operations) Project Director (OBO/ PD) in the performance of his/her duties under this construction project contract. The Safety & Health Officer will inspect ongoing construction activities to ascertain that the implementation of the contractors and sub- contractor construction accident prevention plans are managed effectively. Maintain a daily log of safety and health inspections of construction activities. The Safety and Health Officer shall be capable of working independently and shall provide professional construction safety expertise in support of OBO project oversite responsibilities. S/he will perform other duties as assigned by the agency.
Note: This is a limited-term appointment, all positions with the Office of Building Operations (OBO) office are project based positions and the continuity of these positions will depend on funds availability and OBO project completion. The incumbent should be flexible to work on evenings, weekends, early mornings, U.S. and Indian holidays, as per requirement.

Education Requirements:
This position requires completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management.
Indicate on the qualifications questionnaire all the education details as relevant for the position (Bachelor and/or higher for this vacancy). (Your answer should also let us know if you have completed Class X or XII or any other degree or vocational courses. Also, please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.)

LANGUAGE:
Level 4 (Fluent) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
